Imhotep Sr G Ahmad Nowell became the 4th local prospect off the board choosing defending National Champion, U. Conn earlier today in a ceremony attended by many of the City’s “Basketball guys” at the City Athletic Facility in Tioga. Nowell picked the Huskies over Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Kentucky. A consensus Top 30 National prospect, Nowell is the most college ready prospect in the area. He’s literally plug and play because of his physical strength, sweet 3-point shooting and his cerebral approach to the game. He joins Ryan’s senior tandem of Guard Darren Williams (Florida Gulf Coast) & big man Thomas Sorber (Georgetown) and also Monteverde PG Robert Wright III (Baylor) formerly of Neumann-Goretti as guys off the board.. Now West Philly’s Nowell can focus on leading the Nationally renowned Panthers back on a quest to defend their League, City & State Titles..
